Children aged 4-7 years

Children enter full-time education in the September after their fourth birthday. They learn to live and work together and begin to acquire skills in literacy and numeracy. The emphasis at this stage is on variety, which gives them an exciting start to their learning programme.

For much of the day the work is based in their own classrooms, but the children have the advantage of specialist tuition in French, ICT, Swimming, Sport and Music. The Key Stage 1 classes are located in a purpose built block which boasts a wide selection of age-appropriate equipment. The teachers in the reception classes are supported by well qualified classroom assistants.
