  Pastoral Care

St Margaret's has all the advantages of a large school, but it retains the caring atmosphere of a small one. Every effort is made to ensure that the children never feel lost or bewildered and that they quickly find their feet and are given a sense of belonging.

The School is organised according to a traditional, vertically based House System. Great emphasis is placed on the corporate effort of the 'House' to gain housepoints throughout the term. The House system is used to encourage in each child a loyalty to others and an understanding that individuals' actions will have consequences for all.

The School has a fully equipped Medical Centre in the grounds, under the supervision of a trained and experienced State Registered Nurse.

Religion

Religious Education is taught to all children and, though Christian based, is non-denominational in approach. Morning Assembly is attended by all children and staff, and is regularly taken by the children themselves, The Vicar of Calne, The School Chaplain and other visiting speakers.

Child Protection

St Margaret’s Preparatory School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.  Further information may be obtained by visiting the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre website.
